OneDiversity and Solidarity

ERAO prioritizes building a community that is united by One Diversity and Solidarity empowered.

What do we mean by OneDiversity and Solidarity?

At Equality Rights Africa Organization (ERAO), we know that understanding, appreciating and cherishing diversity is essential to our mission to strengthen the broader civil society and every youth voice in Africa. As a continental Justice alliance of Transgender human right organizations and activists, we strive within the ERAO secretariat and across our Global Steering Committee to sustain an organizational culture that recognizes, respects and values the diversity of our regional members, Civil Society partners Organization, staff and volunteers.

For us, this means putting in place, implementing and regularly monitoring policies and practices that safeguard against discrimination, acknowledge and respect everyone’s unique identities and belongings – including, but not limited to, a person’s nationality, citizenship status, geographical location, linguistic background, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, indigeneity, faith, religion, age, disability status, health status, HIV status, family/relationship status, caregiving status, educational background, employment status, social class and cultural identity.
